AIDC is a not-for-profit all volunteer organization whose mission is to provide support for Alabamas legislation allowing registration of Interior Designers who practice in the State of Alabama. The Interior Design programs philosophy at The University of Alabama acknowledges the need for the interior design profession to remain active in providing for the safety convenience and aesthetic satisfaction of users in the 21st century and beyond. The Alabama Board for Registered Interior Designers requires Alabama-registered interior designers to complete 10 hours of continuing education every year.
